When you find that perfect piece of jewellery, you'll likely want to wear it every day. Every jewellery metal has different properties and requires different levels of care. When it comes to both silver plated and sterling silver jewelry, it is no different. The care you take to maintain them means the longer they will last. Tarnishing of sterling silver is a natural effect and cannot be fully avoided. We currently offer: 304 Stainless Steel, 925 Silver Plated Copper and 925 Sterling Silver/Vermeil. 1. 304 Stainless Steel A low nickel steel used in surgical instruments, and other medical equipment. Hypoallergenic, this won't tarnish or rust. Great for people with nickle allergies. 2. 925 Silver Plated | Copper While not as popular as the 925 Sterling Silver option, with all plated pieces, the plate will come off. But with care the base hardware will last for years. Can tarnish if not worn, and will just need some light polishing with a polishing cloth. 2. 925 Sterling Silver The most popular option for keepsake beads. With care this choice of hardware will last for lifetimes. Can tarnish if not worn, and will just need some light polishing with a polishing cloth. 3. 925 Sterling Silver Gold Vermeil (Plated) | Rose Gold Vermeil (Plated) These are fun to have but with all plated pieces, the plate will come off. With care the base of 925 Sterling Silver will last for lifetimes. Can tarnish if not worn, and will just need some light polishing with a polishing cloth. Simple Care Tips: Remove during household chores: Substances with additional sulfur like household cleaners, chlorinated water, perspiration, and rubber will accelerate corrosion and tarnish. Keep out of direct sunlight: Sunlight can cause silver to tarnish as well. Before you hit the beach or pool, be sure to remove your silver jewelry. Put your jewelry on last: For decades, women have been putting their jewelry on last and for good reason. Lotions, makeup, hair spray and perfumes will accelerate tarnishing. Place chalk/silica packs/anti-tarnish cloth in your jewellery box: They will absorb moisture and help prevent tarnishing.

Our Design Meetings (for the moment) are on Facebook or Instagram or WhatsApp. And will be text/photos only. We do not do calls. For those who don't need a meeting/don't want one - please ask us for other options. We have email as well as questionnaire options as well! Each purchase comes with a 30 minutes chat/photo session. and this is when we will discuss the available personalisation per keepsake. Please note: If you do not show after 15 minutes that meeting is canceled out of respect for the next client slot. We only allow for 1 no-show/ last-minute cancellation. We will send you a questionnaire to fill out if you you last-minute cancel on your 2nd meeting. If you need additional time, that will be up to the discretion of your beadsmith. Calls | Face-to-Face Meetings Design meetings are online chat & photos only. We do not offer phone calls or in-person meetings. This is how we keep our prices low. For cases that insist on calls/in-person meetings, this will be on a case-by-case basis and there will be a charge of this from RM1,000 onwards.

All our beads are able to be personalised with the available inclusions we offer. We may have seasonal inclusions not listed in our charts, but we'll be sure to share them with you when they become available during your design meeting with us. Please note that should you require more customisation on your bead design, you may have to upgrade your purchase to a Custom piece. Prices start at RM200. What personalisation entails: You will be able to choose your decor inclusions but it will be up to our BeadSmith to put it together.

Because we're in the business of crafting keepsakes that last. While we don't condem other businesses, and alot of our quick-and-fun purchases are budget-based, we do however advise you to shop around and do your own research if you only have limited quantities of your DNA inclusions/cremation ashes available. We've had many cases of distraught customers using up their last remaining milk, placenta, umbilical cords, fur and loved ones ashes on purchases that ended up rotting, growing mold, breaking or falling apart on them. And, while we have performed miracles in helping to mend, fix, and even repurposing some of these items, unfortunately in most cases - alot of these items can not be saved. Especially those that have rotted or molded - as the mold within would be toxic to work on or wear. Not all resin and preservation processes are created equal, and that's generally the case when it comes to pricing. DNA inclusions and fatty substances like breastmilk need to be properly treated to last. They have to be able to stand up to heat, humidity and UV rays. ∞ ∞ ∞ Milk Beads Here we choose not bleach your milk (unless requested). Through our preservation techniques and preservation materials, we are able to bring out the natural glow and pigmentation of your milk. Here we choose to help to boost your milk's natural colour. Cheap preservation materials means your milk bead may change its colour, mold and rot within your piece. ∞ ∞ DNA Inclusions Are also treated and preserved before encasing them in our House Blend of Resin. ∞ House Blend of Resin We do not use easily available commercial resin DIY crafters can purchase online. We use our own blend of high grade jewellery resin that cannot be commercially bought in Malaysia.

Work starts the minute we receive your inclusions. On average you are looking at 4 - 6 weeks, but some customs might require up to 8 weeks; but this all depends on the keepsake you've chosen.

We intend on preserving your inclusions properly so that they don't rot, mold or change the integrity of our resin. This takes time, effort and alot of steps and patience. From beach sand to mother's milk, we go to great pains to preserve your inclusions; all this is done without bleaching, ruining or altering (unless specifically requested) these precious items using only genuine high grade materials and techniques.

All Returns and Refunds will be based on a case-by case-basis. Refunds We hope that as purchases on My Memory Beads deal with memorial keepsakes that our clients go through our website, especially our FAQ pages, before making an informed decision to purchase from us. We do however understand that they may be a change of heart. We will honour all request for refunds done in a 24 hour period from time of purchase. We will then issue you a refund with a 20% service fee deduction of your total amount. This is to offset any charges we were charged from the payment provider you used upon checkout as well as the time we spent guiding you towards the purchase if any. In the case of force majeure we will not be able to provide refunds as well. Returns on E-Gift Cards This purchase is non-refundable. Returns on Defected Items We only ship out keepsakes we can be proud of. Each keepsake we produce is handmade with care, and each one unique. As they are hand crafted and not made with a machine, some may come with a tiny bubbles, slightly uneven edges, etc. So please do not expect machine perfection. Due to personal nature of each keepsake, we do not accept returns. However, if you should receive an item that is defective, damaged or not what you ordered, please contact us here within 3 working days. We will try to help you resolve any issues as quickly as possible by repairing or replacing the piece. Send us an email here! Returns on Milk Beads Each Milk Bead we produce will have a sister bead in our safekeeping. This is to ensure that we spot any changes in your bead before you do. Each Milk Bead also comes with a 6 Month Warranty. If you need to use it, email us here. A Note on Mother's Milk Every mother’s milk is different. Colors, densities and hues will always differ. If you see something perfectly white in the picture when you order, your breastmilk jewelry piece may come out slightly creamier or even a different shade of white to your computer settings. You may even see some breastmilk “specks”, or proteins, that are heavier; and this is great! Because this is what makes your breastmilk piece unique.

We know your concerns, we've been in your shoes before, and that's why we treat all inclusions with as much love and respect as you do. Most of our beads that will need inclusions sent in by you come with an online meeting to discuss the handling of these items while in our care.

At My Memory Beads we treat both your beloved pet and family member's ashes with extreme care and respect. We have different SOPs for handling animal and human ashes. E.g. Depending on their denomination/religion, which will be explained during our meeting with you. We ask that our customers respect our prices, as we take pride in taking extra precautionary care and steps when it comes to handling ashes of the deceased. Should we find that a Memorial Bead for Pets was purchased, but we were sent human ashes - we will be respectfully return the ashes and there will be no refund and no keepsake.

Our beads, charms, pendants and more will last for years to come. But we ask that you treat your keepsakes like you would precious items and fine jewellery. All of our items are suitable for daily wear within reason. Try not to wear them in salt water, chorine, spray perfume on them or store them in strong direct sunlight. Simple Care Tips: You may wear your items in the shower if you are showering with Cold water. Never with warm or HOT water as this will affect your pieces in the long-run. Best when you remove your keepsake while during household chores: Substances with additional sulfur like household cleaners, chlorinated water, perspiration, and rubber will accelerate corrosion and tarnish. Heat, moisture and UV will affect your keepsakes, but with proper care you will be able to maintain it for years to come. On scratches and shine: As with any jewellery, you will have to polish and wipe it to maintain shine. But with use do expect scratches and a lack of clarity. Send it in for and aftercare service and we'll help you get that shine and clarity back.

Each item is handmade by My Memory Beads with our own blend of jewellery resin. Resin is not a plastic or glass and it almost always contains slight imperfections due to the curing process. Understand that handmade goods are never ‘perfect’ in the way assembly-line products are. No two pieces will ever be exactly alike. This means each piece will be uniquely their own. These are not ‘flaws’ rather imperfections that make each piece unique and beautiful with their own story to tell. Some may have small imperfections on the surface of the resin such as fine bubbles, ripples or small particles that have found a way to the painting and cured within the resin during its curing stage. Because of this we give each of our keepsake pieces a 6 Month Warranty, incase we need to rectify any issue that may pop up with the resin. If you are not able to accept this risk then we politely will not be able to accept you as a client.

Why are all our meetings only online via chat? Working with memorial keepsakes is energy draining, and we try to keep this to a minimum by not involving people unless absolutely necessary. But we understand that sometimes this is necessary, and should you require an actual in-person consultation, our charges are listed below. This is the same with calls. 99% of the time when a client says something the image in their head may not necessarily be understood by the person who will work with the bead. So we rely on text and photos to do this for us. This means less misunderstanding and a clearer direction for both. We Understand that you are worried about the process, but come chat with us. For years My Memory Beads has operated this way (before the official online launch in 2021) and we take great pride in saying that our online meetings are just as personable and memorable (and less stressful) as our offline ones.

While we only ship out keepsakes that we can be proud of, we understand that some clients may have higher expectations that handmade artists cannot achieve. We strongly suggest that those seeking machine perfection to read this section before making your purchase with us. We craft handmade keepsakes, without the use of machines, computers and mass production, therefore the chance of receiving a guarantee of a machine finish cannot be promised. Each piece we craft has its own story. No two pieces are alike. Certain inclusions that we receive, will have to be treated before encasing in resin/glass. They stands a chance of going through a slight change; in terms of feel, color, shades, and even textures. This preservation process ensures that your inclusions don't change, rot, mould within your keepsake. And as each piece is handcrafted, and no piece can come out exactly the same; your piece may come encased with some tiny bubbles, slightly uneven edges, uneven decorative placement etc. This makes them unique as the curing process is their doing. Each piece is unique. No two pieces will be alike. We do not have a production line or use machine's or computers to produce your piece. We cannot guarantee perfection. There can be no refund for keepsakes as each piece is personal and cannot be resold to another client.

This service does not come with your purchase. But you may request it for an additional fee. And the majority of the documentation that most people would like to see, we will not be able to show as these are our trade secrets. But we understand that some would still like to be part of this process and therefore we do have a Keepsake Documentation Add-On available.

Send it to us and for a small fee we'll help to heal cracked and scratched items for you. Duration of Repair 3-6 Weeks We can also repair other resin Jewellery that has been crack or scratched. Regarding Milk/placenta/dna inclusion jewellery brought from other sellers that have discoloured, rotted or molded. Unfortunately we will not be able to help restore those pieces for you. It means that the milk/DNA inclusions were not properly treated/preserved and the items integrity have been distroyed and are toxic to handle. You will be required to drop off/ship your bead to us as well as to fill out our After Care Form.

For a small fee, send them to us and we will sand down, re-coat, polish and have them shine and sparkle for you again. Duration of Repair 2-3 Weeks You will be required to drop off/ship your bead to us as well as to fill out our After Care Form.

IF within 6 months you see a change of your inclusions in your beads, or its colour, do email us immediately. Please note that all Milk Bead purchases made from My Memory Beads have a sample milk bead that we keep for 6 months to verify this claim. All jewellery are done in recorded batches and, a sample bead from that batch will be kept to verify any claims on their integrity. All beads will have to be mailed over to us to compare against our sample beads. We will then redo the bead for you with no charge <3 No Warranty for hardware, as with other jewellry purchases, your hardware, depending on how you wear/handle it, will suffer from normal wear and tear. You will be required to drop off/ship your bead to us as well as to fill out our After Care Form. A note on resin. All resin in general will yellow. The duration in which it turns, and the darkness of the yellow will depend on the quality of the resin used. Our House Blend offers unparalleled yellowing protection. So it'll stay clearer for longer. However, like fine jewellery, exposure to various elements - heat, humidity, lotions and perfume, body oil, but most importantly UV light - will eventually turn pieces to a tint of yellow. But keepsakes are meant to be worn and enjoyed. So we always encourage you to wear your keepsakes and don't worry too much about the outer layer yellowing, because you can always send them to us for a sand down, re-coat and polishing treatment to get them sparkling like new again.

Your breast milk will be encased in our house blend of resin, that contains a UV Stabilizer that prevents your inclusions from discoloring. However, all resin tend to yellow over time. How quick it will yellow and how dark the yellow will get, will depend on the quality of resin used, size of the item and how often and where you wear your keepsake. With proper care, your breast milk jewellery can look its best for years to come. Our preservation process includes all organic, non-toxic materials that help to prevent your breast milk from turning yellow or rotting. Local/Imported DIY kits in the market have proven useless in perserving breast milk/placenta/umbilical cords. These have been found to be made with mixes of tapioca starch and corn starch to dry up the milk but not treat it. These are fun projects and we won't stop you from having fun with them if you have extra milk to spare and won't mind throwing them away after a few months. We had a distraught mother message us on IG and this is but one of the many horror stories we are privy to. We can help you restore shine, fix cracks and heal scratched milk jewellrey as well as try and even repurpose them for you. Regarding Milk/placenta/dna inclusion jewellery brought from other sellers that have rotted or molded - unfortunately we will not be able to help restore those pieces for you. The mold in them are toxic to work on and to wear. This level of instability means that the milk/DNA inclusions were not properly treated/preserved and the items integrity have been destroyed and are toxic.

Each keepsake is just as unique as the mama for whom it was made for. They absolutely will have variations of colour, may include some tiny air bubbles, or slight imperfection to its shape. These are not to be viewed as mistakes, as these are all handcrafted for you personally and not made by a machine. For returning Mamas and additional purchases. No, we've treated the glass to withstand standard drops. It has also passed both air and water pressure. It will however crack and break if you forcefully and with intention, repeatedly throw it on the ground - or crush the keepsake.
